Bad Server, Connection failed

Recommended Posts

Alright so I've been trying to get Dayz to work allll night and i'm about to give up. Yesterday I downloaded Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead off steam. I then got DayZ Commander and downloaded the regular DayZ and then DayZ: Origins. When I hope in game and try finding a server almost all of the servers in the list have a red dot by the name, I click to join and get this Bad Server error.

& Then I look back and it says my version is outdated? I just downloaded it yesterday (Arma 2 & OA) and Steam says its up to date even. Well then I see that in DayZ Commander it says Arma 2 cannot be found ( Out Of Date) I clicked on the beta patch thing but it says it has to uninstall the WHOLE game to patch?? That's something i really wanna avoid doing because my download speed is miserably long, it would take a full day to do that. So is there anything i'm missing, or any other fix i could do?

My friend did the same thing as me and hasn't had any issues and has been able to play, he did the EXACT same thing... So IDK whats going on here ha.

Thanks

Go to the install/update section on the top right corner of dayz commander. Update your dayz version and beta patch.

Yeah I see that part, but it gives a warning after downloading and opening the beta patch and says its going to re install the entire game, does it really have to do that? All 16 GBs again?

No it wont, just hit ok it will go through a quick processing bar like 2 minutes as it updates the beta patch completely make sure your arma is closed whilst doing this.

Oh alright, well I'll try that then. I was just looking for alternatives because i figured it would wipe my game off and completely re install it. Ill let you know what happens after I update it. Thanks!

Roger I'll be standing by for an update should work fine though.

Well, you wouldn't believe it. Hit "ok" or continue, whatever it is. & I get an error message saying "Wrong CD Key" ..

Have you launched both arma2 and arma OA by themselves yet?

Yes I have, but scratch out what I just said about that. I got Arma to update and now it says its up to date on DayZ Commander, but im still getting Bad Version Errors.

In the bottom right hand corner when I have a server selected in game it says my version is "1.62" when the required one is listed in red letters says "1.62.103419" So that has to be my issue.
