Stuck at Requesting Authentication on version 1.7.6.1

Recommended Posts

*Which version of the game did you purchase? STEAM or RETAIL or MIXED:

-> I bought Arma 2: Combined Operations on Steam.

*Are you running an Arma 2 OA beta patch? If so what version?:

-> I doubt it, just installed Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead via Steam, ran both before installing Day Z and got right into Day Z. When I started playing the game, I never got stuck on "Requesting Authentication".

*Which method are you using to launch the game? I.E Sixupdater/steam/batch file:

-> DayZ Commander.

*What is the Error/Problem you're having? Please provide screenshots if possible:

-> When connecting to majority of servers, the game starts connecting to the servers but at the end it gets stuck on "Requesting Authentication". In the end, "Something went wrong, try again" shows up on the screen.

*Your PC specs:

120GB SSD C:\ drive, running Day Z on a 2TB 5400 rpm harddrive (D:\),

16GB ram

Intel I7-2600 CPU (3.4 GHz Quad Core)

AMD Radeon HD 6670

Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller (Internet Card)

Intel Z77 Express Chipset

*Your Operating System:

Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

*Have you looked at these threads?:

http://dayzmod.com/f...d.php?tid=18588

-> Link doesn't work

Edit:

It seems that if I wait for 40 seconds on the "Requesting Authentication" screen, and wait for like 2 minutes longer on the black screen that appears after "Something went wrong try again" shows up, I enter the server and can start to play. Strange

Yea, ignore those "something went wrong" messages. They are usually wrong. The longer the server has been up, the longer it will usually take to enter.

Just be patient.

Steam usually updates your OA to the beta version, so you ALWAYS have the beta patch installed. Its the numbers in the bottom right corner in the main menu of the game.

Does your dayz version match the server version you are trying to enter?

Edit: Which maps are you trying to play on strictly Chernarus?

If i were you i would stick arma on the SSD and keep the HDD for OS, but your problem tends to happen to me a lot right after a server has restarted and has gotten out of the "briefing" phase it'll show a different letter format of the word loading and there is no interaction untill the screen pops up to a wanna be lobby screen then gose to wilderness or water then says "something went wrong, disconnect and try again". then i close out dayz and rejoin and then it works

Yeah just Chernarus, my client's version is also the same as the server's. I got this to work by waiting out the black screen that comes up when "Something went wrong, try again" has appeared. I asked other players on the servers about this and they are getting this too, sometimes. The solution is most often just to wait. It's the servers fault not yours or mine
