Tip 1 do not shoot each other.

felt bad... I would suggest read the new player guides, find a good online map go to the wiki. Last but not least try things and find out what works and what doesn't. Expect glitches and bugs that will get you killed period.

Best way to learn (and the most fun) is to just go out there. You'll die lots but you'll learn something new each time.

If you're going to play with a friend you'll need a map to find each other when one of you dies (when you spawn in in the bottom right it will tell you where you are). This is a good one http://avidblur.com/arma2/ .
