albinorhino 174 Posted May 8, 2013 So I've not played DayZ in over six months. I used to play religiously just for that feeling of "It's me against the world!". I played for 10 minutes today after spawning fresh outside of Elektro and the first house I hit had a Ghuillie suit and a Lee Enfield (Enfield was always my favourite weapon). But I've noticed a few new items since I last played.Looted the general store and found toilet paper (an earlier idea of mine). Does it have any use in game yet? What are the razers for? Also are the script kiddies still running rampant? Is it a good time to start playing DayZ again?Regards, UnholyKyono.
TG ! Jimmy 216 Posted May 8, 2013 (edited) Hey there unholy_kyono,Welcome back! You can reference R4Z0R's running changelog post for specifics as to what has changed in the game as that would be the most accurate description. As far as gameplay goes, you'll likely not a bit of difference in Zed behaviour and also in player behaviour. There's a myriad of new loot to play with, weapons etc, nothing crazy. There are still (and always) going to be plenty of skiddies screwing around and trying to get away with anything the server owner's haven't kept up to date. I would say that there are many admin who have kept up very well, and do a quality job of combatting the cheating. All in all, I'd say it's a great time to come back into the mix--and to enjoy some sexy post-apocalypse action.Cheers,-Jimmyp.s. the toilet paper, razors, new can models, etc. are just trash loot without purpose ;) Edited May 8, 2013 by TG ! Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted May 8, 2013 ^What he said :)I'd just add that I think the trash items are place holders for a potential new crafting system.
Element47 2480 Posted May 8, 2013 welcome back Kyono!i have been away for a few months, too, and returned recently.. there are a few new toys, and if you're like me, you will avoid reading the changelog and just enjoy the exploration of new things, and be awed when you suddenly find them :Di have only once encountered a hacker since i returned, and that motherless bastard exchanged my alice pack full of gorgeous windscreens for a friggin coyote with crap loot in it (DMR, NVG, GPS, shit like that) - how was i supposed to fix a chopper with a GPS??? anyways, other than that, things were fine..there is a fuckton of private hives now with the most obscene modifications (25000 vehicles, Asswipe Script, new characters spawn with GPS, NVG and 6 Diapers), pay-for-loot schemes emerged among unscrupulous server admins, stuff like that..generally, the game is still fun, there are still fucktards around, but also a good share of friendlies or neutral players.. IHombreI 16 Posted May 8, 2013 (edited) The only thing you need to know is be carful when you fill your jerrycan this has also a animation now the same as refueling and the other stuff. The first time i filled a jerrycan after coming back i almost got gangraped by zombies cause earlier it had no animation.Just so you know. Good luck and most importantly have fun (which i had after returning) :) Edited May 8, 2013 by IHombreI
