Hey there,

The error you are receiving is due to not having the same version of the mod as the server you are trying to join.

If you could wait just a few minutes, I can get you my guide to fix this. Hold the phone, please ^^

EDIT: Here you go. Please skip Steps 1-4, and go straight to Step 5. If you still have problems, then redo this, but start from Step 1:

1. Delete both ArmA II and Arma II: Operation Arrowhead via "Delete Local Game Content.

2. Completely exit Steam.

3. Re-run Steam as Administrator.

4. Reinstall both ArmA II and ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead. No picture, I'm not sitting through a reinstall.

5. Install DayZCommander. Go to DayZComander, then go to Install/update.

6. Update everything, in the following order:

  • DayZCommander (If there's an update, restart)
  • ArmA II (Beta patch)
  • DayZ
  • (Optional) Any DayZ addons you wish to play.

If you have any problems or questions, shoot me a PM.

As the guide says, skip to step 5. If it doesn't work, THEN start from step 1.

Step 6 would be the logical choice.

That is correct. Make sure that the server is running the same mod and ArmA version as you. You can hide servers with a different mod or ArmA version than you by ticking the "Hide wrong mod version" and "Hide wrong ArmA version" boxes, respectively.

If you're unfamiliar with the controls, I'd recommend playing the main story to ArmA II first. There's a little walkthrough that explains the controls and mechanics, then gives you an area to practice with them.

Anyway, congratulations on getting it up and running! Like I said before, shoot me a PM should you have any problems.

All servers are hosted by individual people, however public hives are restricted to our guidelines and limitations, meaning they run by our rules.

I'm not entirely sure, I'm afraid.
