Didn't see a post or any other info on this so here goes.

When you don't have a compass or GPS/map, the easiest way to find north at night, (when there is no moon), is this:

Fairly low on the horizon there is a Bright star(much easier to see with post processing on normal), it stands out because it is almost completely surrounded by smaller stars, very close to it. i would take a screenshot but im not using the steam version.

the little stars surrounding the big one are mostly along the bottom left side of it, its obvious once you see it. that star is usually almost directly North.

Protip:

Ctrl+PrtScn saves a screenshot to your clipboard. paste into mspaint and save.

why microsoft doesn't just add a hotkey shortcut that autosaves a screenshot to your harddrive is beyond me.

can't you add dayz/armaII as a non-steam game to steam, then you can take screenshots.

Don't really use steam myself so I am not sure
