Dayz backstory suggestion

This is a kind of explination for dayz. I may write stories to tie into this.

“In 2014, a Russian town called Alexandrovsk Disappeared, literally gone. There were Rumors of alien activity although no one really paid any attention to that. A week or so later The Ruskies made an official statement-A large cavern under the town filled with mud caved in sucking in the town and its residents. The mud had filled up to the surface leaving no trace. They lied.

A week later several nearby towns all reported Walking dead. Only one account was very descriptive. Here it is

<May 18^th 2014 Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk>

At dawn we saw three people amble over the horizon. They walked slowly towards the city. As they meandered around the outside a police officer and 2 doctors with an ambulance when out to help them they looked pretty disoriented. One of the doctors promptly came back in the ambulance without the others. He Drove directly to the police station and rushed in. The other doctor and cop were meandering around the city limits with the first three. I pulled out our American bushel binoculars and tried to see what was happening. They all had blood on their faces and were walking funny. A group of police cars drove out about 100 meters from them. An officer with a bullhorn started to yell at them, it was the second to last mistake of his life. This last was not pulling his gun as the things attacked him. I had my children pack up one suit case and we left. That’s why we are here in Moscow. What happened after that?

It turns out she was a carrier and soon all of Russia was a dead zone as we call them now. It spread, fast the Ukraine almost bit it. A section of the Ukraine called Chenarus had multiple world leaders there, some tour the world conference stuff. Anyway wrong place, wrong time. They all had a company or two with them, tanks choppers all that. As Europe slowly was overrun Chenarus stayed semi-safe. In the western hemisphere the governments there were taking drastic measures to keep anyone out. They deployed anti-air systems around the coast to keep out any incoming flights. Boats were patrolling waters so ships couldn’t get in. The US got so paranoid it nuked the tip of Russia and Alaska for safety measures. This unfortunately was their undoing. People rallied row boats, fishing boats, anything and made it across now that it was unpatrolled Most of them died because of fallout. Meanwhile, in Chenarus things get interesting. It’s now winter almost spring. A group of terrorists believing the US was still Z free rallied all its members and headed from Kiev to the Chenarus area to mass kidnap the diplomats there. Once there it was their numbers VS. Trained soldiers. In the end almost everyone was dead and survivors, bandits and heroes roamed the land trying to survive. A nearby island called Namalsk was overrun also. Because of its cold climate something strange happened. Before communications were lost. There were many reports of

An invisible thing moving around killing people and sucking its blood like a vampire. On the Tavania Island many tried to get to the safety of the offshore oil rigs. Shortly after no one was there, No trace. There were no supplies there, blood or bodies it was all just gone.

Before we neutralized parts of the area it was a bloodbath out there. At first people set up camps to help others, then snipers killed innocent people that had nothing on them except some beans, all the while the death toll of Chenarus went up due to the zeds. Some groups made it north and geared up on military supplies from military zones, bodies and heli crashes from the fighting with the Kiev terrorists. I lost my leg to a zed 20 years ago or so.”

“How did you get zombies out of most of Chenarus?”

“We survived, I guess. I was in a coma on top of a fire station. When I woke I was in a camp. “

“What happened?”

“I don’t know they never told me.”

“Who are they?”

“Your friend, your neighbor, your brother, anyone… they risked their lives again and again to bring survivors here. And in their attempts they eventually all perished.”

i like how you incorporated some of the map mods. the only criticism i have is that they are infected humans, and are not actually dead or "undead"

In dayz dead alive or even reanimated is all up for debate.

Chernarus is its own country and Namalsk is an abandoned island (only presence there is military).

I still liked it though. It was good and detailed.
