Why don't helicopters spawn

I am one of the few who keeps asking about the status of implementing helicopters to new servers. We've still not gotten a proper answer about what's wrong and how it can be fixed.

I hear it's because they make the server lag and desync. Is this the case and has the problem causing this been pinpointed? Is there any way we can help test these issues (apart from playing on older servers with helis)?

I just want one ;_;
