callsignBravo (DayZ) 323 Posted May 1, 2013 This is a post from research I've been doing and post i've read. You can look into my last How to hero thread it was more of a question and has a lot of raw info. I will post a list of a list of things that should be good advice when you try to be a good hero. Shout out to Mullraugh I read his stuff and he is more a hero than I will ever be.Well here it is!A BLOODBAG CALLpart 1 knowledge.A. The situation. When you are called for a bloodbag by a wounded player the first thing you need to know: Is it legit or a trap? If you don't know then, what you don't know CAN hurt you. If a player dies in the place where you are going ask how. ALWAYS exercise caution around the "target" location B: Scan any sniper positions you think a player could be in. Look for ambush points then could be in. If you can see them where you are supposed to meet do one last check for anyone else and slowly head in.part 2. display of force/armamentsA. Never bring a sniper into a bloodbag mission. it paints a target on your back and dose not have alot of value IN a city or town. An assault rifle or cabine is the best for this. But what about shoutguns? nope. even if you have slugs and pellets the only shotgun (in vanilla dayz) that can fire fast enough has NO value at medium range because it's foresight is too chunky to aim.B. "Some people think Heros are wimps and 'pussies'. Don't be afraid to teach them a lesson. Many times have bandits and survivors stood in front of me and say "shoot me, you don't have the balls." Let's just say they finished the last part of the sentence on the ground dead" ~mullraugh - the mercenaryPart 3 Meeting up.A. once you get in make the player drop their guns or sit on the floor if they move give them a warning. B. It helps to have a sniper watching your back, or just a buddy next to you.part 4. YOUA. You gotta be mature and show respect for the other player. If you type "there GTFO". when your done you are likely to be shot in the back. B. Act calm, don't make a lot of sudden moves. There have been countless times I've seen people been shot for looting some morphine without telling the bloodbagger. part 4. After thatA. depending on if this was a legit call and if you made it in alive, bloodbagged/morpheined, the player you helped could stay with you. If they do always be cautious of betrayal, they got what they needed now they need gear, gear you have.B. Peripherals- If you new pal is sticking close to you thats a sign of betrayal, if they stay behind you or in the side of your sight.C. ADSing-if they are aiming down the sights alot at the ground, loot, windows or zombies thats a sign of betrayal.Other Situationsstealing-to be well known find an admin's stash and go robin hood on it and distribute it to bambies on the coast.bandit hunting- I find this counter productive and you won't find any tips for it hereRandom story-read mine-tell yoursMe and my clan are playing tavania. We get caught in a "war" in sabina. A group of bandts in an osprey land on top of the bookstore and start shooting everyone. a sniper squad landed on the hospital (HUGE red building across the town square). They exchange gunfire and it all quiets down after a little while. The bandits embark their air vehicle and drop about 4 people behind the bookstore the rest on the roof start hailing the hospital with bullets. hiding in the super-super market we are observing this. The 4 bandits on the ground slowly loop their way around to the hospital undetected. After about a minute there they had their guys on the roof provide covering fire as they moved behind the statue in the town square a second osprey comes and gets them (a ton of ospreys spawn everywhere) The bandits all evac to the first osprey. the second flies directly at the hospital roof. The pilot eject and it crashes into the roof killing 3 snipers. The rest limp into the huey and go to the first floor and start looting because the bandits moved off. Me any my guys have moved up and are at the edge of the plaza then we realize, 4 bandits went in 3 came out! we try to warn them on side chat, too late. BOOM. they placed satchel charges. we rushed in saved the wounded used our military off road to collect gear and pick up respawns. I talked with the leader or the sniper group and now the clan i play with 20% of the time is three times larger.I encourage anyone and everyone to post their own tips and stories!See you out there! Dreams_Of_Cheese (DayZ) 71 Posted May 1, 2013 I think he meant bringing a rifle on your person. However, having a sniper teammate a distance away could help.
