Raising Fps on a server

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm new to dayz and im have some fps issues while playing, its getting pretty obnoxious so I hoping to fix it. The average fps on most servers I play is from 5-15 which is pretty bad I guess(not a computer guy), I've tried using RamDisk as suggestion from another forum and that hasn't fixed anything(I may not be using it right either). The ingame settings I play on are on default, I've tried putting them high to low but that hasn't done much either. I bought all of ARMA II with expansions from Steam, including the Dayz mod. I only use Dayz Commander to find and play on servers and get updates from Dayz (if that counts for anything). If anyone can help I would greatly appricate it. I also have all drivers up to date.

Specs:

-NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti

-6gb of RAM

- AMD Sempron™ 140 Processor 2.70Ghz

-64-bit

- Dell Inspirion 570

Below is a Benchmark I did as a suggestion from a friend of mine and this is what I got, But I don't know what its means, I was hopeing someone here could tell me.

Your CPU could do with an upgrade, that might help. My old computer ran at 2.93GHz and I got under 30fps on low everything.

Hi there.

You have a great video card but a terrible processor for gaming.

Arma II and dayZ are CPU intensive programs. you will need to upgrade your CPU, and your motherboard.

I highly suggest you get an intel CPU. you might find a good deal on an i5 2500K or i5 3570 and pair it with a budget motherboard ($50).

If you shop right, you can do it for $200-$250.

As above - The 650 Ti is an okay graphics card but your CPU is incredibly outdated.
