I understand that this might be taking the piss posting in troubleshooting, but I have a server up at the moment, I'm having issues with Timezones. It's based in Germany (but for some reason called US 499) and I really am not sure what to modify the time zone to to reflect GMT Dublin time. The only options there are UTC. It's a public hive connected to the Dayz central one. Hosted by HFB. Any ideas?

You are aware that UTC and GMT are the same time right? For example if it is 9am GMT it is 9am UTC.

I am indeed, the problem is that I can't for the life of me work out what actual UTC time the Dayz servers in the US are based on at central hive, so I cannot compensate it.

What are you trying to compensate for? If you want something like gmt/utc +8 [just an example] just set your server to utc +8. There is no need to compensate.

He's correct, you don't need to compensate for anything, a lot of the public hives are set in different timezones.

If you are in Germany just use UTC or UTC+1, whatever suits you best - doesn't matter what anyone else has, just choose the best timezone for where you are located.

They are all correct, no need to compensate. My server is also hosted on HFB and I have my time set to UTC +9.

From your HFB Control Panel, click on "Game Services", then choose "Configuration Files". Under the section "Default Configuration Files", you will see the option Timezone.bat. Click on "Configuration Editor" next to that option and select your desired timezone.

Regards,

Splinter
