Seriously bad fps for my pc

Recommended Posts

Hi people,

just to start im new to pc gaming and this game brought me into it so much i bought this new pc

AMD FX-6100 Black Edition 3.3Ghz (zambezi)

GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3 motherbored

12Gb Kingston DDR3 1333Mhz

500w powersupply

500Gb seagate barracuda 7200 Rpm hdd (windows 7 ultimate installed)

Sandisk 128Gb SSD (ARMA, Day z, Steam installed)

ASUS HD 6770 Direct cu 1GB GDDR5 Running stock clocks @ according to SMARTDOCTOR 850mhz core clock and 4000mhz memory but according to amd vision controll its 850mhz core and 1000mhz memory :S

the reason im here is im not getting any more than 20 fps and as soon as i come into contact with another player in pvp i get owned due to the framerates dropping even more and i cant deal with it much longer haha.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as i dont know if im bottlenecking my computer somewhere or what but when a friend has a basic amd quad core and 2gb ram with a OLD gpu hitting core clock 750mhz oc and getting better fps it kinda sucks.

THANX .... james

First thing I would wonder is which video drivers you're using? Have you updated them recently? If yes, try rolling back to a previous one--if "no" then try using a new driver for the 6770 and see if that helps.

Have you monitored CPU activity whilst playing DayZ?

Have you monitored RAM activity whilst playing DayZ?

Is DayZ installed on the SSD or your storage drive?

firstly im using the drivers that came in the box from the last gpu (same one but faulty) and when i try to update it states i have up to date drivers.

windows and everything else is stored on my sata hdd and day z, day z commander, steam and arma are installed on my ssd.

i dont know how to monitor ram or cpu in game i just ctrl - alt - del to desktop and look at widgets which cpu and memory havent exceeded 50% to my recolection,

once again sorry if these things ur asking are simple im just new to pc with only a basic understanding but quickly learning as im going along
