Whole server's legs break

It's a rare occurrence but occasionally when someone switches skins on our server it gives everyone the broken leg icon on the server and rendering saving any character changes useless(eating, drinking). Has anyone else had this problem or heard of it and maybe know where to find the solution?

Yeah; stop using modified DayZ content and play it vanilla. There's some kind of trigger you've disconfigured between player model change (which usually involves the "Change character" code, if I understand DayZ correctly, and a lot of "Additem 'x'" based on previous inventory) and breaking legs triggers... Try finding a way to, as an admin, fix everyone's legs (But not blood, food, etc) with short code if you aren't willing to stop using your modified Hive.

I'll bump for the sake of helping. I've never heard of something like this happening, and I want to know what solutions people that actually know wtf they're talking about will come up with.

Yeah, it happens when someone puts on clothing. The error is within the dayz_mission.pbo, not exactly sure what causes it.

I believe, if you override the dayz_code.pbo to your mission file, the error occurs there, specifically variables.sqf, and compile.sqf.

I wasn't being hostile. That was a legitimate attempt to help you.

Spoken without ever seeing the server itself. Which is anything but a "fluster cluck of noobism". We have a strong belief that the game is meant to be challenging as most of our changes have made it harder, not easier, while keeping a strong sense of the spirit of the mod.

Be that as it may there was no call to jump to assumptions about the OP's server. Applejaxc assumed the nature of the server and as a result proved the concept of the statement, "Assume makes an ass out of you and me"

There are good private hives, then there are bad private hives. I play on and off Balota buddies and I enjoy it quite a bit, but have moved on to a much nicer server.

Honestly, I gotta go on Apple's side here. Whenever someone is having problems with their DayZ server that involves modifications, I assume its not going in the "Let's make DayZ harder direction!" (Which btw, if someone ever integrats and more in the "1000000000+ Vehicles/1 million helis/ Spawn with AS50+Coyote+All tools+NVG+Rangefinders UB3R1337BANDITPVPKILLFEST #YOLOSWAG" direction.....

Also, dat signature. It confuses me....

Not the case as a rule or even a common problem. I have overidden both .sqfs as well as many others native to the DayZ Code .pbo, and have no such issues.

Also, it sounds like you are using a custom skin addon script or change clothing script that was improperly implemented, or is conflicting with either normal server operation or some other script you have added. You ought to check your RPT logs to possibly see what is going haywire.

I didn't know the exact files, I will try to find a fix tomorrow.
