Where is my axe?

I have the new 1.7.1.2 version,

And today, i want to chop wood with my axe, but now my axe is not in my inventory. So i find a new axe ( or hatchet ) but i cant pick up. It says you have not enough place in the inventory, but i have enough. :( now i cant cook my meat and i need blood :P

so where is my axe:huh:

have anyone else the same problem:huh:

I think it has something o do with they have made the axe a melee weapon or something in 1.7.1.2.

I lost my main weapon and my axe due to this. I dont know how to chop wood anymore?
