error55o 0 Posted April 12, 2013 (edited) Hi every one :)Is there a way to travel between maps on the same server?(e.g. Cherno to Nam and back again)(no doubt a simple question with a complex answer) Edited April 12, 2013 by error55o
Mos1ey 6301 Posted April 12, 2013 (edited) A complex question with a simple answer, lol.Namalsk etc. are unofficial mods of DayZ, therefore each map is a different mod and a server can only run one mod at a time for obvious reasons. The only official map is Chernarus. Edited April 12, 2013 by mZLY
obi_james_kinobi 4 Posted April 12, 2013 Why do i have the feeling you're a Frankieonpc fan? :-pNo you can't change between maps on same server, in frankie's videos he says that he travels between maps with vehicals but thats only for his story plot. You can't physically do it.
error55o 0 Posted April 12, 2013 actually, even though I've seen some of his vid's I'm not a fan of his, on the server I play on, we had no idea if we could or not, so, I came n asked, not just for me but for the people I play with, a simple "no" or a complex "yes, this is how..." followed but a ton of steps, would have been how this was answered, the answer is "no, cant be done" so subject closed. Element47 2480 Posted April 12, 2013 i've given it some thoughtsmy idea was to have several DayZ servers run in VMs and track players on each through a common backend. logout on one server and login to the other could be automated and triggered by scriptw at certain transit points, thus enabling map/server transit. I have only debian servers, so havent been able to tool around with arma and dayz server-side, but im pretty sure its possible, given that Arma2 allows for C++ and .NET extensions on windows machines..some of the scripting gurus in the community surely could say more about this
