Can i play dayz if i can play Arma 2?

Recommended Posts

Thanks everyone for responding.

I just downloaded the demo for arma 2: operation arrowhead, just to see if i can run it, and it does, so does this mean i can run dayz as well? And the (future) stand alone game as well?

I know i have to buy arma 2 and the expansion, i just want to know if i can run and play Dayz.

Iam really interested in playing this, but before i buy i want to know if i can run it.

Thanks for responding.

hard to say

the full version should have worse performance

and dayz needs way more power then arma2

if the demo runs great dayz should run

and if dayz works the standalone will defenitly work

It does require a bit more grunt as the map is fucking huge and unlike ARMA, it needs to be loaded all the time. You usually require a bit more, but not much. THere's also a thread called "can I run it?" which should have some systems comparable to yours with some feedback. Check it out.

I'm going to assume you have 8gb RAM and not 1, cuz if you had 1, you'd struggle to run Angry Birds. Yes, you will be able to run it. Not very fast or at very high settings, but it will work.

You'd be able to run DayZ but you'd be playing on fairly low settings with quite low FPS. Your CPU and graphics card are both quite weak.

In answer to your original question - your performance in the OA demo will give you a basic idea of how well you'd run DayZ but will all the extra zombie AI calculations for your CPU and other things DayZ is a bit more intensive than regular ARMA.

If you have any more questions please use the 'Can I Run It?' thread, which you can find here...
