Goes straight to arma 2 HELP

So I installed Arma 2 and Arma 2. Then I ran both to let them install BattlEye and such. Then I went to the Dayz site and instead of using play with 6 i used dayz commander. When I went to go on the server I wanted in the dayz commander, it just brought up Arma 2 regular. It does try to join the server at first, and in the bare millisecond that it is there, I see some grey message in the lower left hand corner saying something about i cannot join because it is dependent on something or other. What do i need to do?

Did you install the dayz mod through commander, and update the relavent OA beta EXE?

In DayZ Commander hit install/update at the top and then install the ARMA 2 update and DayZ mod.
