DayZ Private hive

Ive had a dayz server for quite some time now, barely any players actually I only get 3 a day at most. I did advertise and all that jazz but what am I doing wrong? Or what should I do?

You are experiencing the same as many of us - too many servers, not enough people! Day Z players are spoilt for choice these days with not only loads of private hives to select but so many different "flavours" of Day Z to play. The community has become fragmented and divided among a sea of different versions and masses of temporary servers. This is always the danger with Mods and games with endless DLC packs.

The biggest problem with it all is that anyone and their brother thinks they can just open a server and everyone will flood in and play. It's not that easy though. Personally I see the biggest key to success being persistence and longevity.

Hosting a consistent version and map helps on a long lease. Also having various additions and customs that make your server stand out is also worth looking into.
