What happened to thermal?

So I have been playing DayZ for some time now roughly 2 months bouncing around server to server and I haven't stumbled across anything to do with or related to thermal scopes, binoculars etc. I have played maps such as Nomaskl, Taviana and origins.

Has it been removed or is it just now really hard to come across?

removed from most maps and mods

some private hives might have thermal wapons

Whenever there's an update to the mod you should read the changelog on our forum's so that you know what has changed with each update. Thermals were removed months ago.
