DayZ on two monitors: Game + Browser?

Recommended Posts

I'm on nVidia and setting up the extended display obviously allows me to play the game on my primary monitor and place Mozilla with the DayZDB Map on the secondary monitor. However, when I move the cursor to the second monitor and click on the map to move it (scroll it) the game minimizes to desktop on my primary monitor. Is there a way to avoid this and keep the game running maximized in full screen on my primary while messing around with Mozilla on my secondary monitor?

If you use DayZ Commander, you can enable window mode within Settings. So you can have DayZ open on one screen, then your browser on the other. I haven't used window mode yet, but I'm sure it will work well for your needs.

I have two monitors also, not really a way around it apart from what Skunkfu said, but i find it plays at a worse frame rate doing that, just get the map zoomed out to a reasonable place, hide the side bar and you should be good for a while ;)

why use dayzmap? just play it as it should be played! and besides... If you study the dayzdbmap a bit you should be able to know the most important loot spawns anyways.

If you play the game in windowed mode, it will stop the problem--as mentioned above. Common issue with dual-screening.

Well in ~80% of cases I really don't need the map, but when I do, I hate tabbing out. It really only comes in sometimes when I'm "reading" the terrain without a compass, since I mostly move through the wilderness, and I just hate the ingame map. Windowed mode doesn't lower my framerate which is odd so I'll give it a spin as I've got some spare time today.
