Did I do the right thing?

I started playing 2 days ago. Still getting a feel for the game and am having a ball.

So im on a low pop server looting some decent gear and standing on top of a building with a mate. I make a stupid move forward and fall off (lol) dead on the spot.

I was lucky enough to respawn close enough to the area we were in so I started doing a runner back to it so I can get my gear back. It was night time so i was making good time and next thing BAM!

Some dude shoots me and comes up and stands over me as im dieing. So over mic im like wtf dude im friendly and unarmed. He responds with a lol and says "im a bandit" hes standing over me close enough for me to access his backpack so I accessed his backpack, grabbed a gun and killed him.

I thought it was hilarious, he seemed genuinely surprised and was going crazy about it. he had some decent gear but his reaction made me think maybe this isnt the done thing? I kinda felt like he attacked me first and I was unarmed so all is fair,

It sounds fair, if someone (bleeping) shoots you and stands over your almost-dead body, I'm sure it'll be fair to shoot him.

Besides, you should shoot bandits anyway. They have those rags around their head for a reason!

If we're clinging to realism, no. I have always hated how people are able to take large items from my backpack without me noticing.

In all seriousness, you are alright. Dickhead shoots you while you're unarmed and is stupid enough to get close and give you enough time to pull a Bond move AND not have the reflexes to shoot you as you were stuck in the animation of pulling the weapon= you do whatever the hell you want to him.

You did the right thing....

It just goes to prove that bandit's brains have really gone to mush and just shoot on sight..and without killing the player, the player made him feel really stupid.

if anything what he did wasn't in the spirit of the game, I'm not saying you can't kill (PvP makes this game what it is) but people that hang around the coast to shoot fresh spawns is just shit.

FYI he was NOT a bandit; bandits kill for food and ammo etc. It is a good way to survive but this dude is just a fresh spawn hunter and therefore a lowly peasant dickhead sorry I changed it a bit : P
