applejaxc 2500 Posted April 1, 2013 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvMkRwmKHeE The VERY VERY best possible thing you can do for yourself in DayZ is to uninstall DayZ (or if you used a @DayZ mod folder, take the shortcut off of steam) and play the Arma 2 OA campaign, download some scenarios/mission online and play those, then play multiplayer for a few days. I've never met a successful player in-game that hasn't either played ArmA 2 OA to the max or Battlefield 3 (not that BF3 and A2 are the same game).I had 110 hours clocked in for Operation Arrowhead alone and I hardly (if ever) lose a gunfight in DayZ on a low-ping server.Speaking of which, don't play private servers; the admins are assholes and will kill you.Never play a server of higher than 100 pings. dulix11 731 Posted April 2, 2013 - Play some ArmA II to get used to the feel of it, how weapons work, movement etc- Get a hatchet. This is a must-have for any new player.- Find someone who can play with you (giggity) and show you around, give you some stuff if you need it.Just keep at it, everyone dies within 10 minutes of their first playthrough by zombies.Good luck! theirongiant 200 Posted April 2, 2013 (edited) Zombie Avoidance 101:Crouch run if there is a bit of distance, crouch walk if they are close by, you'll hear an audible change in zombie noise when they've got their munch on. If you hear it start running for the nearest building with at least two entrances, enter one, exit the other and go back to crouch running. If you can, throw some zigzags round buildings and walls to break line of sight. If needs be, run out of town to lose the zeds and retry. Goto Start.Protip #1: Going up the tower on a fire station with a trail of zombies can't often lead to death but when you get to the top of the second flight of stairs if you look at the wall if will give you an option to climb ladder, select this and it'll glitch you onto the roof, there is a ladder to get you back down to the ground.Protip #2: The long, dark wooden cabins are death traps avoid like the plague. GoodStumpy 0 Posted April 2, 2013 Thanks for all the tips guys Ill have actually play arma 2 and get used to the play style. Its funny I can run BF3 on atleast High, but when I come to Dayz it lags if I go above low, but low looks like complete crap.
smoke_ 2 Posted April 2, 2013 Some other good tips for zombies:-They cant hit you in pine trees-You can outrun them if you just keep going-Game pathing makes them walk in buildingsYou can just aggro zombies, run to a pine tree or into a building and axe them to death. It works great when looting buildings although it does leave you vulnerable to players since you have to put away your main weapon. Just a note, sometimes (read: when it is really inconvenient) the zombies will just one shot break your leg and/or knock you out.

If not then it might be time for an upgrade, lol.
