My dayzi has low fps.

Computer spec:

Processor: Intel core i7-3610QM 8 cpu 2.3GHz trubo to 3.2

Memory: 8gb ddr3

Graphics:Nvidia Geforce gt 650M

hard drive:Toshiba MK7559GSXP 750gb 5400rpm

if i put settings low i am 25 fps and if very high i am like 15-20

This is strange isnt this computer enough for dayZ O:!!!!

I can play all the other games just fine with high settings.

2. Work on your settings/options, view some FPS increasing tutorials.

3. Your laptop should give you around 40-50 FPS in average, if not more.

there are multiple ways to improve your fps in dayz, that thread contains most of the solutions that i have have used to improve the fps.

another tip that im not sure that link includes is unparking your cpu if you are on windows 7, windows 7 on laptops limits your cpu usage to around 20% this was the most useful of all the tips that ive seen so far.

I don't think so. He's got a 2.3Ghz CPU and a 5400 RPM HDD. It's not really cut out for ARMA.

Here are some things you could try though...

First make sure post-process effects and anti-aliasing are disabled in your graphics settings, they eat a lot of FPS. You'll probably get better results with shadows set to high as it puts the load on your graphics card instead of your CPU and everything else should be set to normal or low, play around with it and see what works best for you.

Then I would try disabling hyperthreading and changing the following values in your ArmA2OA.cfg...

GPU_MaxFramesAhead=0;

GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=1;

Also, you might benefit from running DayZ on a virtual drive using your RAM with RAMDisk because of the slow HDD. It's relatively easy to set up, you should be able to find tutorials on YouTube. You could also move some of ArmA 2's .pbo files to the virtual drive, you'd see a bigger increase in performance, but it's a bit more tricky to set up.

back dunno why

i put them GPU_MaxFramesAhead=0;

GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=1;

and they change to

GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1;

GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=0;

or sometimes both 0

That's fine. I'd change them both to 0 and leave them at whatever value they change to. :)

I believe MaxFramesAhead can't go lower than 1 and Arma overwrites the other value everytime you run it but never reads it. I read that on the BIS forums when I was tweaking my own setup.

If you set things outside the min/max parameters they just revert to the min/max. If he sets them both to 0 then they'll change to whatever ARMA wants them to be.
