Trizzo 632 Posted April 1, 2013 (edited) 1) TLFFS = Talk less for fucks sake, no idle chit chat when it is unwarrented.2) Give consice co-ordinates, points of reference, "Umm guys i see something by that tree overthere". If i had a team and the power the banish a person anybody who said that shit would be out. You want, ", north, 200 meters, left of red tree, one unkown" for exampleProper call signs could be a good idea when you get the whole group invloved. You need informed squad mates and a good leader to manage the relay. Would give disicpline but hey I've never given it a go, third party VOID in real time really spoils the need for radio talk and never been part of a group interested in this, exmaple, "Trizzo, Calliing TL, over" -> "TL, Calling Trizzo Over." aussiestig 681 Posted April 1, 2013 (edited) Exploit = to make use of unfairly for one's own advantage. :huh:If you're talking about exploiting a video game, then you're talking about the video game meaning of exploitation, which again, is taking advantage of a bug/glitch/something that shouldn't be taken advantage of. :thumbsup:Dean never said we aren't allowed to use teamspeak, so it's not an exploit. Dean likes Teamspeak, he likes ACRE, a mod that uses Teamspeak. The early multiplayer missions of dayz were conducted on Teamspeak. It is a subtle difference, I can see why it trips you up.I don't give a rat's ass what Dean thinks or likes. Friends should not be able to communicate silently in the presence of outsiders. It makes no sense, and is exploitative.

Pandema 352 Posted April 1, 2013 (edited) Oh, I have another tip. Make sure they can read the bloody map.You have no idea how many times I've given grids only to have my friend go "Uhhhh what?"1) TLFFS = Talk less for fucks sake, no idle chit chat when it is unwarrented.2) Give consice co-ordinates, points of reference, "Umm guys i see something by that tree overthere". Hetstaine 10852 Posted April 2, 2013 With the mod as it currently stands with so many glitches , chances of scriptkiddie death i think ts is the least of any worries. Rocket may have got rid of direct on pub servers but he then endorses metagaming. TS and its ilk have been around for what..since the 90's ? I know since i have been gaming that TS has been a mainstay, we used mirc back in the day before TS became popular. Your fighting a hopeless battle Applejaxc and iegle. I know when we were playing old flying sims in that you could not voice communicate in half of the WWII fighters we were crating around in and nobody ever whined about the use of TS...and the hard core flight sim guys would eat this forum for a light snack regards realism in games ;) Some things have to go by the wayside in gaming as there also has to be a fun factor ..like 3dp (as much as i dislike that) . Also like tweaking graphics settings and losing the detail in trees and enviroment so one can see other players better.Specific server settings are the only way to get what a certain player prefers. Re teaming up - Already mentioned..calling out your location correctly, so many times you hear..'A PLAYER!! OVER THERE!!! BY THE TREES !!... and always know where you all are, friendly fire is annoying.
rn_max 202 Posted April 3, 2013 Top Tip? If you want to remain in a team and make gaming mates ... don't follow wannabe trolls to bore town. Talking of which ...@ the dynamic duo of Applejaxc and iegle:Use of third party comms is available to EVERYONE and thus not an unfair advantage. That is unless you are either incapable of social interaction or have alienated others so badly that they won't to talk to you, in which case that is your problem. If you want DayZ with a no comms policy, simply attract like minded players and you'll soon bore each other into silence. Some like to socialise whilst they game, because that is all it is ... a game ... entertainment ... fun?Is there an unhealthy hint of gaming dependency and seriousness going on there? MyNameIsSandman 0 Posted January 13, 2014 Imagine this:You run a race over sharp gravel. You're barefoot.Your opponent bought shoes to protect his feet.Is that fair?Stop using teamspeek, wuss.If you're running barefoot over sharp gravel, then you're just an idiot. And saying you're cheating by using teamspee(a)k is like saying I was cheating for using satellite communications to communicate with superiors in Afghanistan. The insurgents we were hunting could only communicate about a hundred to two hundred feet reliably with the walkie-talkies that dated back to the '70s. We could communicate with an air wing all the way in Bagram, about a hundred or so kilometers north of where we were. I wouldn't say that's cheating.
