Hacking. He probably used a getpos1 getpos2 spawning code based on player locations. Was there a giant lag spike prior to this event? If so, you weren't the only person hit with so many zombies.

All of the zombies were the same doctor skin, right? His coding was lazy, then; he only wrote (or purchased, as most "H4x0rs" are idiots that can't be bothered to learn ArmA 2 code for themselves) enough for one type of zombie to spawn.

Why did you start shooting? I'm the last person to suggest "Dashboarding" on consoles or "Combat logging" on PC, but 100's of zeds and you've got that loud a gun, while trapped, while missing that much blood? You've got more balls than me to start shooting, man.
