Is it worth picking DayZ up before standalone?

The mindset of the player is to kill people, that's it.

No surviving will be going on, just like the mod, just like war z.

Guessing you're going to be helping with that "Hey lets pvp guys :D"

I'm very happy to have played both.

I'm intentionally avoiding Minecraft so I can focus on DayZ. For one thing, the models are better. Still, it was a big mistake not allowing girls to wear camo/etc. If I'm going to watch someone's backside for hours, female is better. Tomb Raider understood this well.

Watching backsides? Use first person, then.

I don't recommend getting the mod, it's better to just wait for the Standalone.

If you're dead-set on getting your "DayZ Fix", then go ahead.

But I don't think it's worth it.

I say do it, DayZ is super fun to me. I was told to wait till standalone but I couldnt. Bought Combined Ops, downloaded DayZ, Loved it. and I cant wait for the Standalone.

The best purchase i made was getting Arma 2: CO for dayz, dont get me wrong Arma2 is a good game but DayZ is well worth it

Well, Alpha's not coming at least until June, so figure in alpha, closed beta, open beta, we're looking at a September release at the earliest, so Yeah. The mod is worth getting.
