-Guardian- 206 Posted March 26, 2013 it not really donating it more like walking in to a shop picking up and ipod and only paying for it if you want tooIn this given scenario how many people do you think would be walking out with free ipods. cmon man
HashSlingingSlasher192 29 Posted March 26, 2013 yes most people will take it for free thats sort of the point that way no one missis out because they can't afford to pay, this way you dont split the community in two 1 map that EVERYBODY can play nobody misses out yet the dev's get some well earned cash"Basically your idea is to give people an easier way to donate money to developers."sort of but you donate for something it is paying for the map. it not really donating it more like walking in to a shop picking up and ipod and only paying for it if you want tooso basically it isnt a dlc its a donation for a gift

-Guardian- 206 Posted March 26, 2013 with the millions of people who play dayz how many do you think will walk out with free dlcs?and your use of the word *millions* makes this MOD seem to have a much larger player base than it really has. we are looking at MAYBE 2 million. and thats pushing it. King Tubbs 224 Posted March 26, 2013 (edited) I have to point out to everyone 3 things1 Rocket himself said on Sundays video in the q&a "payed dlc maps"2 BI is not a large company they don't make a lot of money you can say millions hear and millions there but they also SPEND millions, think about it when they sent there mappers to Spain how much do you think it cost them ??? and no i am not talking about the jail time i mean before. hotels, flights, car hire and they where paying the people to do it, on top of that the have tax, rent gas, electricity, wages. and they only release a new product every few years to cover itthey NEED the money they always do 3 the cost to make a map to this level is high, these are not some people work in there bedroom from imagination to by looking out there window, they use satellite images and not Google earth they pay for high def ones, how much dose that cost??? 500? 1000? 2500? who knows but i bet it is not cheepthen you have the people making the map lets say 2 programers working for 6 mouths. now my friend has a degree in computer game programing and when he GOT OUT of uni he was earning £50,000 a year so lets be conservative and say thats what they pay the team 2 for 6 months £50,000then they have to send the people out the the area that the map is based on to get impersonation lets call it £2000 all inbeing conservative a high detail large map made to professional standard would be £53,000still think charging for maps is greedyand to the people that are on this thread, would you pay if you where given the option not to ???
