Blondedash 403 Posted March 25, 2013 The drawback kind. where you hold an arrow and pull then shoot. This could work alongside crafting you can craft bows and arrows you can collect your arrows meaning infinite ammo but it has a decent drawback time.
Derpy_Hooves (DayZ) 4521 Posted March 25, 2013 So a hunting bow? much different from a Sport Bow. I would love to see the Longbow in game, maybe having to carve it with a knife from wood to make the frame and get some Fiber/String, Put both together and horray... LongBow. Blondedash 403 Posted March 25, 2013 easy to use but infinite ammo a great starting weapon but it doesn't have much range.
King Tubbs 224 Posted March 25, 2013 this had been sugested before and dean loves the idea but it is vary hard to do in the arma engineso hard infact the dean said that it may not be possable at all
Ohly 26 Posted March 25, 2013 whats the actual difference between this bow and the arma crossbow ? yeah range but about ammo and reloading time ??
taco241 393 Posted March 25, 2013 A compound bow is overused in games. The learning curve for most would be too much to get any accuracy with one anyway. So I wouldn't miss the omission of this weapon from the game. IT'd be completely unrealistic in a fight against a moving human target anyway.Keep the crossbow though.
hatfieldcw 184 Posted March 25, 2013 Yeah, these survivors spent all their life learning how to fly helicopters, gut boars and perform emergency medical procedures, they didn't have time to master sniper rifles and bows, so they went with the rifles. Bows are too hard for a superhuman marathon-running engineer to figure out.I like the idea of the bow, but the engine's limitations have been mentioned before, and we can probably do without it. Crossbow will have to be enough.

A longbow is much more difficult to master. As for hitting moving human targerts with the bow, its been going on since the middle ages. You forget arrows can travel at about 400 FPS+ (faster then a painbal gun which I can hit moving targets with) and can puncture car doors and such with ease.
