jdz (DayZ) 238 Posted June 19, 2012 Lately I've been seeing a lot of people showing off their 'tent cities' and I think this really defeats the purpose of the game, along with pitching their tents full of high tier gear outside of the mapped area. The problem is that this game is about survival, not wanting to die and having emotions attached to your character and these 'tent cities' ruin all of that. How?Well usually these 'tent cities' consist of at least 5 tents and have a lot of good gear in them, even when this gear isn't needed by the owner of the tents. Now I'm well aware that these guys have earnt their gear and probably went through great risks to come across it but it defeats the purpose of the game. Why?Because death has little to no consequence. You've died, bugger, I guess I'll just have to run for 30 minutes to my tent to get some new stuff out of my tent.I'm well aware that this is supposed to be realistic but realistic doesn't always mean enjoyable, I think if there was something that could limit the amount of tents pitched in a certain area, then this game would be a lot better. The same also goes for vehicles to a certain extent but no where near as far. These are just my thoughts, I'd love to hear other peoples thoughts. Thanks for taking the time to read this. prometheus111 1 Posted June 19, 2012 Limiting the number of tents in an area is not the solution...it will only numb the issue that you're pointing out. And I don't think anyone would agree that despawning the tents when the owner dies is a good option either... Don't mean to poke holes in your idea... I don't think there's a good solution at this time.
EnermaX 59 Posted June 19, 2012 To agree with my pre-poster, it's a very difficult problem. How do you prevent someone to hide his good stuff? I guess there's no solution.
jdz (DayZ) 238 Posted June 19, 2012 Do people consider it a problem though? I personally do
