Admin with Script Restriction Question

Greetings,

I'm seeing a few BE kicks for Script Restriction #67 and I'm trying to figure out if this is a false positive? My scripts.log file shows the following corresponding entry:

17.03.2013 15:42:51: PlayerNameRemoved (IP Removed) GuidRemoved - #67 "openDSInterface;"

I am running the latest DWarden BE filters.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Hey,

This is a protection against hack scripts. The Server Control buttons in the lobby and on the map menu are protected and kick if you press them.

Script #67 -> Lobby

Script #228 -> Map

Sometimes players click on this button, dunno exactly why ...

You can set it to one if you want. They can't do anything there unless they have the rcon pw.

What if some randomer and 'their mates' vote them as admin, I guess they then get the ability to kick/ban/change mission like in arma 2 or am I mistaken?

You can vote people as admin using the #vote admin (name/ID/PLR#) command in the chat regardless of whether or not you have the server control button enabled.

I'm pretty sure even if someone does get enough votes it doesn't do anything on dayz servers. The functionality is probably disabled in the server files, otherwise people would be abusing that all the time.

I set it to kick anyway because otherwise you end up with the chat being spammed by "derpderp wants to become admin" every ten minutes. Fewer people know about the commands I just linked.

Thanks for the reply and information. You make a good point about the chat being spammed. I had not considered that.
