i7-3630m 660m FPS problems

Recommended Posts

Hello community,

I recently started playing DayZ on my new MSI GE60 Notebook with the following specs:

i7-3630QM 2,4 GHz

GTX 660m

4GB Ram

64 GB SSD for System

500GB HDD for Media and Games (Arma 2:OA)

I tried many different settings and tweaks to increase my FPS ingame (change the CFG File, turn off V-Sync and so on) but I am still getting online 25 to 30 Frames on Low/Normal Setiings.

Also when i look at my GPU with MSI afterburner while gaming i can see that it is only used at about 60-70%. The same with my CPU. I also told DayZ Commander to start with 4 cores and 7 threads but i could not notice any changes in FPS. Also i saw various post and videos, showing the i7 and the 660m running DayZ at nearly Highest Settings. Also when I overclock my 660m , the FPS increase by 4-7, but MSI Afternurner still only shows 60-70 % of usage.

I already have antialising and post procesiing turned down and played with all kinds of different ingame settings.

I hope you can help me, because so far i really love Dayz !

Sorry for my bad english, I hope you understand everything.

Thank you in advance !

What you need to understand is that GTX 660M is not the same as a GTX 660.

GTX 660M = 9800 GXT.

Yeah, I actually DO understand the difference between a mobile and a desktop graphics card^^ Changing the shadow qualitiy to 2 in the config files fixed the problem for me. It is now running on full hd on highest settings, except antialiasig and post processing with fluent 40-50 Frames :)
