How do vehicle spawns work?

Hey guys,

Currently play on a private hive that restarts every 6 hours. Just wondering how vehicle spawns work. I found a bike at a spawn point located on dayzdb.com and had it destroyed a few days later. On the next restart it wasn't at the spawn location. This confused my idea of how i thought it all work. Anybody got an explanation for me?

Also, dayzdb.com seems to not have many of the spawn points of vehicles. Is there a better map?

Only a certain number of vehicles spawn on every server. The map on dayzdb lists every POSSIBLE vehicle spawn. There's more possible vehicle spawns than there's actual vehicles. A lot of the spawns will get you nothing.

Edit: If you play on private hives, they sometimes have more vehicles, as well as custom spawn points (usually closer to the coast so you have to walk less.)
