Hacked Items (Maybe Not?)

I updated to version 1.7.1.2 and ended up having to join a server that I normally don't play on due to version compatibility issues with my usual stomping grounds. Long story short, I got into a fight with a guy in the Chernogorsk super market and killed him. I went to loot him and saw that he had "55 hatchet" with a shotgun shells icon. I figured it was a new bug, and I was without hatchet due to recently dying so I figured I would pick it up. Turns out it replaced my primary item, was called "hacked" in the upper hand corner, and had 10000 ammo. When I saw this, I immediately "respawned" my character. I'm writing this both as a warning to everyone and as a defense in case I get auto-banned.

EDIT: Having read the patch notes, it seems like what I saw was probably the new melee hatchet and melee crowbar. Can someone please verify?

1000 ammo= infinite since it's melee?

I tried to take a screenshot with print screen but it just took a shot of my desktop. What do you mean new hatchet? I haven't bothered to look at the change notes for this latest version.

There are new melee weapons, a Hatchet (wood chopper) and a Crowbar.

I had the same thing happen to me. I cannot pick up hatchets (inv full apparently) and only have option to "take" it, also found huge ammo piles on ground said it was 55 Hatchets and 7 crowbars as shotgun shells. Can't pick them up, if I try to the number just goes down.

i picked up a legit crowbar and the name of the weapon is hacked and it works, so you probably shouldn't have hit respawn :P. I've also seen those bugged hatchet/crowbar ones but when i tried to pick them up they just disappeared so.
