Hosting A New Takistan (v2.0.1) By vRNemesis

The recent 1.7 update to Takistan broke the map so I made my own version of Takistan. I have fixed the problems,

and completely updated it to 1.7.6 code as well as made several changes listed below with many more to come. I have named the mod simply @Takistan so it will not replace the current @DayZTakistan.

I have also made a thread on the DayZ Commander forums in an attempt to get it added on there. If you like this I would greatly appreciate your support over there as well.

To play, download the above client files, extract them anywhere and inside you should see a @Takistan folder along with 2 other files and a readme.

-Place the @Takistan folder in your main Operation Arrowhead folder where you see your other @DayZ mods located.

-Place the DayZTakistan_vR.cmd file into your main Operation Arrowhead folder, or wherever your ArmA2OA.exe is located, if you prefer playing in windowed mode use the DayZTakistan_vR_Windowed.cmd file instead.

-Run the .cmd file to start the game with the mod enabled, our server info is below.

You don't have to use the .cmd files, you can use any method you wish to start the game, just make sure to have -mod=@Takistan

For server admins only, players may ignore this section

The dayz_server.pbo is a modified version of Crosire's server pbo for his DayZ Control Center. Do you want to use other server files? Link me to them and I will gladly make the edits required and include them in the .rar, or if you know how feel absolutely free to do so! The main file that needs editing if you use your own server pbo is the server_playerLogin.sqf . This may or may not be named differently with other server packages.

Notes:

Most importantly, be sure to set your server's modlist to include @Takistan. And be sure to place the vRNemesis.bikey in your server's Keys folder in the Operation Arrowhead directory. Also I suggest using the Battleye filters I included in the server files .rar, they are the most recent filters from the community banlist with a few changes I made to fix some restriction kicks that were occuring.

I do not currently have a set of default vehicle spawns based on the new additions. Once I get it set up, I will include a sql query that you can import into your database if you wish. For now you'll need to use your own or any other set for Takistan, if you already have a DayZ Database setup, you should already have a default set for Takistan.

If you want to change the instance, it's easy, go into the dayz_1.takistan folder included in the server files .rar

-open the init.sqf

-Find this line: dayZ_instance = 1; and change the number to whatever instance you want to run it on

-Rename the folder from dayz_1.takistan and change the 1 to the instance number then repack the folder into a .pbo

BE AWARE ADMINS: Unless a new class has been created for the model, if you give a player that model as a loadout, they will spawn with the gear assigned to that model. I will create classes for many of them eventually, if you would like some done sooner let me know which models and I will create classes for them and they will be added in the next update of the mod.

TO-DO List / Planned Changes:

- Create a custom loadscreen

- Adjust the combat logging system

- Add more clothing parcels and add to the loot table, possible addition of custom player models not in Arma2

- Overhaul the loot table completely

- Tiered Humanity system, will mean more Hero and Bandit skins, as well as a subtle reward/punish system for both (Example: Heroes may spawn with a map, or more survival supplies, etc.)

- Possibly add more variety to the zombies, and make them fit the whole Takistan theme as well
