having trouble with arma2 patch and days (steam)

Was told I need to install the latest arma2 patch as i've been having the debug forest error, among others.

I can't get on most servers cause it's out of date, and my dayz files are up to date but I was told my arma 2 patch needs to be up to date. I downloaded it, ran it like shown in this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZeKQ3Wx_uH0

but still not working. is there something extra i need to do for a steam version?

PS: the vid shows I should see that it will say it's a beta version upon launching, mine does not.

You need to download the beta client launcher script as well. Go here for instructions on how to get the patch working. http://dayz.sykotix.com/arma-ii-beta-client-install/

It worked for me, but I can only launch the game using the DayZbeta.cmd script file, if I try to launch the game using any other shortcut of file it will not work.
