For some dynamic and to help stop those bonzai inland runners carrying nothing... tired feet!

Old Trainers: Spawn with them, no sound change, sprint penalty every kilometre or so (30 seconds of no sprint?)

Walking Boots: Louder and can run for much longer/infinite [long hikes]

Sneakers: Much more silent, sprint penalty balance between the other two.

(out of the box): Skates, must faster on hard road, quiet but useless on any other terrain. :D

Also as another one to mention, would make the differences in backpacks more valuable, if the larger ones gave a very slight run speed penalty - going by how the larger ones may be more constricting on the body if we put the "bags with more stuff in them" argument out of mind...
