VisionTwelve 24 Posted March 14, 2013 I'm not too sure whether this is the right place for this, but i think it is;But,Recently I've been playing on different servers. such as BMRF, Hazert, and some random private hives and public's.And i have fraps open when i play, but, don't record, just to see my frame rate. I've noticed that on some servers i struggle to get 20 fps on minimum settings, while i can get 20 on high settings with ease on other servers.I only play on servers with less than 75 ping, and usually its 33 ms that i have on the servers i play.So what I'm wondering is, why does this happen? does it have something to do with server bandwidth and data transfer to the user? or something completely different? Zarmaka 22 Posted March 15, 2013 I have a feeling that the CPU might be bottlenecking you.I may be wrong, however I struggle on my i7 2500k, GTX680 and 8GB ram on servers that haven't been restarted in a while.

Zarmaka 22 Posted March 15, 2013 Either way, as a gamer, I would never use the "onboard" cards, as they are never as good as their equal in dedicated cards. I know it's cheaper - and I did use it before, but I'm never going back to it.Try getting one of the cheaper low/mid end cards that perform better than your Onboard one :)
JackPotDayz 26 Posted March 18, 2013 VisionTwelve I think your computer is actually enough to run DayZ very smoothly, one way to test this would be to run Arma 2 OA in singleplayer. I think your FPS is dependent on server location and hardware. The server should also restart frequently to maintain smoothness

Deathcall 101 Posted March 20, 2013 HAZERT's Lingor Server (if that's the one you are talking about) has custom bases around the map (mostly around the East section of the map). This bases are not "pre-cooked" into the map, and many players may encounter FPS loss while in their vicinity simply because of the sheer amount of items (over three thousand and counting) present there.Lingor itself is a FPS heavy map, I think it's because of all the vegetation. There's also an issue with weather being either too foggy or rainy, which also seems to affect performance. We have tried modifying this through the mission.pbo (setting it so it'll always be sunny and without fog) but for some reason there's still weather varition. I know that DayZ vanilla runs a version of Enigma's dynamic weather script and it could be that the same thing is present in Lingor, forcefully changing the weather even though the mission is set to be sunny and clear. There's also an issue with the latest DayZ patch and the amount of zombies in game.I may be entirely wrong however. In any case, you are welcome to join our forums at www.hazert.co and discuss the matter further there.
