FreakinWishes 0 Posted March 13, 2013 I have tried EVERYTHING.I don't understand why I can't get DayZ to run any faster. I'm currently using all of the supposed fixes in this forum post:http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/38865-how-to-increase-fpssmooth-out-the-game/I use DayZ Commander. Here are my specs:HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PCProcessor: AMD A8-3500M APU with Radeon HD Graphics (4 CPUs), ~1.5GHzMemory: 6144MB RamDirectX 11Display Device: AMD Radeon HD 6620GI also have 4 cores, and I added the "-CpuCount=#4" command to the DayZ Commander (and Steam) launch parameters, I've defragged the computer with Perfect Disk 12.5, used GameBooster, and close all required programsMy computer can run other games just fine, even AAA ones. This is ridiculously irritating, and I am hoping someone can find a solution to my problem. Thanks for the help!

elf cakes 559 Posted March 13, 2013 (edited) Cuz ur machine. UPGRADE TO A NEW MACHINE! i hate it when people put stuff like this on the forums. you think we all have money spewing out of every orifice? no. some of us have to work for a living, some of us simply can afford to fork out £500-£1000 on a new machine. stop putting these bullshit comments as they dont help anyone.in regards to the OP, either its your CPU not having the legs for it, or its just dayZ being dayZ. hope you can find a fix :) Edited March 13, 2013 by elf cakes

FreakinWishes 0 Posted March 13, 2013 Thanks for all of the replies! It's odd, there have been times where I've gotten the game to get pretty good/decent fps... I believe that there is in fact a way to accomplish this; I usually get pretty good/really good performance on my games...Could it have something to do with the Catalyst Control Panel? John69 64 Posted March 13, 2013 You can try Go to Control panel/ power options, set HIGH Performance and always play with the powercord plugged inn. So no powersaving features kick inn while you play. But, to be honest, that APU A8-3500 is really no good choise for Arma 2 and Dayz, its a quadcore alrighty, but its clocked slow at 1,5Ghz and with the turbo feature some cores go up to 2,4Ghz.Arma 2 is a cpuHOGGER, it needs Ghz, moore is always better. The built in gfx HD6620 is way better than all of Intels Onboard gfx, but still its no good for demanding games like Arma 2Cpu`s in laptops are usally low power eg. 25-45w and slow clocked compared to "normal" Desktop cpu`sI have a laptop with the A6 3410MX @1,6Ghz , overclocked it to 2,9Ghz all cores(Use K10 Stat.google it) But still arma 2 was really hard to enjoy, sometimes 20-25fps, but mostly around 15-20 fpsYou can fiddle for a few hours with the settings and maybe get in the 25fps range in some places, but the overall gaming experience will be bad and sluggish.Sorry
FreakinWishes 0 Posted March 13, 2013 Damn... That's a real bummer...
applejaxc 2500 Posted March 16, 2013 1.5GHz won't run ArmA 2; the recommended specs are something like 2.1-2.6GHz, right? My Toshiba laptop hardly runs it @2.1GHz on minimal settings with a Intel integrated GPU. 1.5GHz with a low-end graphics card (your PC) is just... no. Just no. Buy a new PC.If you want a "Cheap" but well-built PC with medium-end hardware, try an Acer http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-V3-571G-9683-15-6-Inch-Midnight/dp/B00B7JE6FS/ref=amtcd_B00B7JE6G2_B00B7JE6FS
