This Might Help Someone. Possible Fix For Anyone

Recommended Posts

So I took it into my own liberty to try and get the game to work properly after buying Arma 2 complete collection a couple DayZ ago. hehe

I was having issues with DayZ not loading any servers or telling me that I cannot connect to said servers because I was running the wrong patch. This all was done through Steam!

I tinkered for a long time last night and finally loaded a couple different servers. Got my butt kicked testing video setting but eh ow well.

#1 Ok load the entire game Arma 2 first then all of the expansion packs and start a game of campaign in each one.

#2 Download the DayZ mod from Steam.

#3 When it finishes downloading right click it in the library and choose properties.

#4 Go to beta section on the far right and dropdown to select the most recent beta patch.

#5 Check back to the game and watch for it to update fairly quickly. Once done run the DayZ game and see if you can connect to a server. Give it a couple of tries and you should be good as I am now...

Any questions I will be on this thread for a while just ask em and I will see if I can help.... Good Luck from CallMeSIZ

Yeah, steam jumped on the bandwaggon to push out the mod more (obviously thye have made money from dayz being out aswell hence arma on steam now)

Its terrible the way they have done it and you still need dayzc / 6up to update and stuff (unless you prefer spending longer manualy doing it)

everyone should stick to dzc :)

I had troubles with downloading the .msi installer from their website. I had to find a 3rd party site to get it from. IDK if it is becuase I am running a 64 bit system.

Manually updating isnt too bad.

Nah, but compared to just hitting the install + update buttons is much easier, + i have never experianced dayzc issues when installing correctly. (ive always used x64 architecture, w8 w7 w7e w8e)

Manually Installing Dayz? Aint no one got Time for That

Dayz Comander is Much Easier for lazy people like me, Who is to lazy to properly do that meme.

Plus you can be a lazy shit like myself so that it lets you know when there is an update for a map or dayz or beta patch

And its also usfull to get the IP of servers

Although it is a resource Hog so close it after installing.
