herrjon 478 Posted March 11, 2013 The public hive is riddles with hackers, private servers are safer, and white-listed servers are safer still. You can still play on public hive, I just wouldn't join a server with more than 20 people in the server, hackers target high pop for more rage and better concealment. I'd personally recommend joining something like Balota Buddies. Gunther (DayZ) 65 Posted March 11, 2013 What I have noticed is that now a days there are a lot less instances of idiots teleporting everyone into the sky or instakilling everyone, but with all the ways that people can cheat it makes the game pretty annoying. I used to think it was just crazy coincidence that I ran into someone in the middle of nowhere, but then I found out that a lot of people have the ability to see everyone on their map, so they just see you running in the woods by yourself and teleport to you or hop in their helicopter that they "found" and murder you. It seems like no matter how much the mod gets updated, there is not a whole lot that can be done about cheaters.That being said, I still really enjoy playing the game. It doesn't bother me too much if I get killed by someone that is cheating because I find the start of a life to be the funest anyway cuz thats pretty much the only time you have to hunt for suplies and weapons. If I were you though I would probably just wait till the standalone comes out which hopefully will be soon. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

INickeragua 121 Posted March 11, 2013 DayZ is the only game I have ever played with this many hackers. It is a great game but the hackers can ruin it sometimes. I would recommend playing on a whitelisted server to limited the threat of hackers. :) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
