Based on the latest devblog it looks more like Arma3 than Arma2, visually speaking. The animations and lighting etc. But yes, it is the 'DayZ' engine since it shares elements from the 3 game engines. I'm sure someone will port DayZ over to A3 sometime. But with the SA being done before then and looking almost(?) as good the SA will be a better option. Not that porting DayZ over to A3 is a bad idea, it just might not be necessary as most of the player base will be playing SA or the A2 mod. Time will tell.

I'm looking forward to the new inventory system. Looks like it will be similar to A3 with some DayZ tweaks for crafting and customization. Can't wait.
