cakedotavi 28 Posted March 9, 2013 Why do we have to watch your game load? You lost me right there; as soon as a video starts with a loading screen I'm pretty much done with it.
Humaki 2 Posted March 9, 2013 Well, its kind of a intro so people that dosent know what game/mod it is can see what im doing...If you already jump off a video there... Then you dont like 60% of the game content on youtube...
cakedotavi 28 Posted March 9, 2013 (edited) Well, its kind of a intro so people that dosent know what game/mod it is can see what im doing...If you already jump off a video there... Then you dont like 60% of the game content on youtube...You can easily just use slow spots in your footage to accomplish the same effect. And yeah I don't like *way more* than 60% of the content on youtube; most of it is pretty poorly done. (Not saying that's the case here, just that there is way more bad content than good in general) Edited March 9, 2013 by cakedotavi
cakedotavi 28 Posted March 9, 2013 Here is what I mean. I don't mean to put my own work up on a pedestal or anything, (I've got tons to learn, many people are better at webcasts than I) but this demonstrates what I mean by using slow parts of your footage to set up what's coming. a_typical_noob 651 Posted March 10, 2013 I wouldn't use YouTube's anti-shake function. It tends to make viewers nauseous.Just my two cents.
applejaxc 2500 Posted March 10, 2013 I would also like feedback. I get around 30 views per DayZ video I produce, but I rarely get any comments, and that really bothers me. Youtube analytics (as inn accurate as they are) say I've got a 70%+ audiance retention rate, which means my videos are watched to the end most of the time, but no feedback/suggestions/anything!I have about 17 DayZ Hero Diary videos (Yes, Heroes still exist): http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7XH4CVGhhYRMHvGZnOkSQu5u9g_Kfgm9There's also "Extreme Bandit Hunting" which is DayZ but full weapons/vehicles/skins (except tanks and support weapons) and no HUD: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7XH4CVGhhYR9-2x35Op9gZTHxErGq8pZ

I know this isn't an easy fix but it's not fun to watch. No setup/context whatsoever. Very hard for people to get into the video if they don't understand what it's about or why they should watch it.edit:Oh, and retention rates are deceptive, especially with such a small sample size. It could be that people just skip to the end to see what happens. It's not very representative with so few views. Edited March 10, 2013 by cakedotavi
