EuroNinja 1 Posted March 7, 2013 Hi all, as of 3/4/2013, i completed my 1st gaming rig and now i have the ease of knowing that i can buy any pc game and not have to look @ the back of the box praying that my tower is powerful enough to play it. Coming from console my war fighting games were limited. C.O.D is mos def not my playstyle. So i poured countless hours into all the BF series. I joined a militarized xbox clan for a few years. I enjoyed the discipline and order they offered but grew tired of it after awhile. Having been on both sides of the "grass", i enjoy a balance of professionalism and casualness.I install my arma package and do my updates, start up arma, run through the tutorial, run through the tutorial 2x, go to multiplayer, find a coop game, join and BAM!!FNG spwns in tent and i spend the next 25 mins watching the battle take place and cant do shit about it. i see arty call ins, troop heli pick ups, enemy call-outs, yet i cant fully enjoy myself because im trying to figure what i can do to be most effective as a solo,if anything. I was naive to think i could just find a game, join a room and get out on the battlefield and have all these coordinated attacks with other ppl on my team. So my 1st arma battle experience was a lil tainted. No worries, jump on dayz and it'll be a different story. ill land on beach and find a gun within 10 mins or so and start owning zombies off the bat. -.-2 deaths later, and i was brought back to reality. Im gonna have a hard time enjoying the experience solo. So here i am.A short bit about myself. 30 yr old, father of 4, and an OIF veteran. My trade in the service was apache mechanic. Even though i was aviation, i was honored and privileged enough to train with specialized recon units from other countries. I picked up combat tactics from a few ranger buddies and got to engage in 3 raiding missions. Basically, i know the bullet thingies comes outta the pointy end of the gun thingy, right?! While driving in a convoy from one base to the next, my humvee driver lost control and ejected me from the moving vehicle and i landed on my head. After my deployment, i was diagnosed with TBI (traumatic brain injury). So from that i experienced a plethora of symptoms. My two major problems were massive memory loss for the rest of my life and tainted social interactions with large groups of people, like IRL. Its not as bad as it looks, but i use the excuse anyways to stay in my man cave. No worries, thats why video games were invented! So now i play Mr. Mom and the like. Waking up, getting kids ready for school, and taking care of baby all day. Pick kids up from school, homework, dinner, rinse & repeat. And all in between that is my pc time. So its safe to say i can devout a good amount of time into my gameplay. It is also a double edged sword. I can commit to my games but i have to fulfill my fatherly duties first. But i wont leave our squad hanging in the middle of a breach while i change a diaper, but those times will pop up where i need to afk for a few. As with having a house full of children, it stays quite loud. I know how annoying it can be to have your ear drum busted out from the cries of some kid on the other line. Even though i police my kids when a game session is on, the occasional scream will get thru, and i cant stand anything more worse than when someone on the team says "oh!! what was that!?" fully knowing i have children in the background. Sorry but it just eeks me.Sorry to make this so long but after two days of surfing and looking for clans. I see that most clans require a brief bio or such. Im still technically new to the arma series so i have much to learn. I am fully willing to learn and train under cool headed, easy going commanders/gamers. Im mostly looking for a casual clan since im just starting out. I have basic modding knowledge, a mic, and teamspeak. Im willing to get the applicable programs needed for clan play. My schedule for the next few months is open and free until summer college courses start. Im really hoping to join the arma/dayz community soon, like 3 hours ago. nothing worse than having these great games to play and no one to play with. you can find me on steam as well EuroNinja

NsN 14 Posted March 7, 2013 You sound exactly like me, I highly recommend joining a Private Hive server because hackers are far less common and if a hacker destroys the server or kills everyone, an admin will just use a backup and get everybody's stuff back (at least in this certain one I play on). There are squads/clans and people competing commonly and everyone here likes the militarized style of playing as well. If you have teamspeak feel free to join: becks-privateers.com:9995The server IP is 173.193.48.137:3221 and the website is Becks-Privateers.comIt's still rather new but there's generally always at least 4-5 people on. Not a very popular server which I can understand if you're looking for something like that but keep it in mind, we're trying to grow!Good luck brotha
