How do you update Battleeye scripts?

Recommended Posts

I just rented a server from ViLayer. I already have a server from dayz.st. On the new server, I keep getting kicked or BE restriction 44. From what I can tell, this is due to outdated BE scripts, but I can't find anything that explains how to update the BE scripts. How do I do this with ViLayer?

First thing's first, have you got FTP access to the server?

If yes, you're in good shape! If no, put in a support ticket to see if you can get access to this.

To update your BattlEye filters download the latest ones (I work with FACO on these and he updates them very frequently) http://dayz4linux.in...ed.fr/battleye/

upload them to your cfgdayz/battleye/ directory overwriting your old ones (save backups!)

With your favorite RCON tool, run the command "loadscripts" and then "loadevents"

You will now be running the latest and greatest!

Cheers

Edit: Fraggle beat me to it! =P

I have remote desktop access to the server. I don't have a cfgdayz/battleye folder. I do have a \DayZ\Expansion\BattlEye folder and that has scripts.txt and bans.txt along a couple of exe files and a config file so I don't know where to put the other txt files.

I finally figured out where to put the new files: C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\DayZ\@dayzcc_config\1\BattlEye

The only problem I'm having now is when I get to the whole "character creation" part of the loading, it sits for a while then says something went wrong and I have to disconnect, but I'm not being kicked for BE restriction anymore.

Do you use IRC at all? Jump into the #DayZ channel on Gamesurge and find myself or Faco. We can help.

Yeah, I'll do that since my ticket's been unanswered at ViLayer for nearly 24 hours now.

Are your guys' filters more effective or different than the ones Dwarden updates?

They are created in conjunction with Dwarden, so they are the same (for the most part). Focused, of course, on security.

The scripts log collects alot of information. So much so, it's impossible to even review the inofrmation in it because the file lags out. In your opinion, which files are essential and which ones can I remove as I suspect part of the server lag is from the too many filters.
