What Have you Done to Survive?

So what have you done to survive in DayZ?

I climbed up a ladder with one of my friends (We were being trapped by zombies. Trust me... There was no way out). I shot him in the leg with my last bullet of my AK74 to distract the zombies. Sadly, karma caught up to me. And we both died. We had a great laugh.

Anyway: What about you? Have you betrayed your best friend like I did? Had to kill bandits/heroes? Take a risk such as almost killing yourself? Do tell me!

EDIT: This post is about what you have done to survive. Not what you have done to have fun. This is about if you got desperate or did something crazy. Because you had to live. Like when I killed my friend to make the zombies leave us alone. We both jumped off the ledge to get away from the zombies. That is what we did to survive. Because we were desperate.

later i followed the guy who betrayed his friend, then i shot him.

My friend went AFK once while I was flying our heli around. Started getting chased by another heli with an active gunner, and couldn't shake him.

Sacrificed the heli and my friend so I could live.

I haven't really been pushed far enough to have to kill for food, but I once shot a guy in the Elektro firestation who walked up. He was unarmed, but I had already shot him. I told him to bandage and leave, but he got eaten by the front door.

Once I spent hours of time and so much food and ammo during the process of hunting this ass hole bandit who killed half of the server. I never caught him, but my friend that I kept constant contact with (Who was also hunting him) killed him. I got in multiple firefights too, and used much ammo..

I was in a pub in Cherno, when a survivor comes to my direction (Obviously heading inside the pub). I could have killed him, but I instead said "Stay away" and he alerted a horde of zombies by running on the street.

I saw him in the back room trough the window and helped him by shooting the the zombies coming his way. Then all of a sudden, he gets knocked out, I shoot the zombies eating and I rush inside there. I only get the counter part of the pub when I'm surrounded by zombies (Literally over 10 of them, no way out), so I throw my last smoke in the room and hear him getting eaten alive while I run the fuck outta there.

I've watched new spawns, of whom I assume were relatively new to DayZ, run from zombie trains and eventually die whith me, being in a position to help them, just watching . Didn't want to get involved incase it went wrong and I died.

I was outside a barn when I heard gunshots. I ran towards the gunfire to see what was happening, I went around the outside corner of a barn until I caught a glimpse of a man with broken legs, he took two shots at me as I ran past him and around the other side of the barn. I reloaded my AK, aimed down my sights and crept around the corner. He was distracted with a bunch of zeds attacking him. So with a straight face, I put him out of his misery. I unloaded half a clip into him and the zeds surrounding him.

I never attack unless it's for strict self defense. I would've helped him, I had morphine and bloodbags, but he shot twice and it's a risk I wasn't willing to take. I stand alone in DayZ, and people have yet to take my wings. I don't kill for beans, or for fun. Only if others are threatened or if it's for strict self defense. Right after I killed that guy, I went west of Sol, I saw a white car near by and then I saw a man with a hatchet being chased by a small horde of zeds. He ran my way, then he saw me with my gun aimed towards him, and darted to another direction. I took aim at the zeds behind him and killed them all. I lowered my gun, and the man came back to me and said he was scared I was gonna shoot him. I told him I wouldn't, I then told him to take the white car. He asked me to team up with him, I told him "I stand alone for now. I'm gonna head my way, good luck" he replies "Good luck to you too." And I disappear into the woods.

Great stories. Still reading all of these. I once stole a helicopter from 3 people. (They recently lost one of their helicopters (They had two of them)) I was a fresh spawn. They managed to do some minor damage to the helicopter. I traveled all over Chernarus using that helicopter. It was crazy. For a first time I suppose..

Ran to Electro hospital being chased by zeds as a new spawn and took refuge behind a guy with a AKM. Said I was friendly then watched him dispatch the zeds. Then when he wasn't looking put the muzzle of my makarov against the back of his head.

His beans tasted good. :P

I haven't done anything terribly bad. Worst thing I did was kill two guys on a rooftop after they escaped from a zombie train. Unfortunately after I looted them a dude had climbed up the ladder and hacked me to death with a hatchet :(

I met two friendlies and a hero in Elektro who all helped me out by giving me food and ammo. None of them were in a group together, just passing strangers.

I broke one of their legs to escape 26 zombies.
