1.7.1.1 experiences

New poster, been playing for about a week. Recently died while sprinting to friends at the airfield with blood and beans to save them, and got sniped in the legs by a bandit =P

I personally think that although it is a bit hectic, and in most cases required an exploit, surviving without a gun is fine (though i still pussy out and server switch at night time), if i can find a barn, i can usually run in, dodge any zombies, and carefully use terrain to avoid the walking zombies and loot the barn(the walking zombies being the exploit)

However, considering the time i spent raiding in hot spots around Cherno and the airfield, and nearby settlements, i was starving for food. I ended up killing another player with my last few bullets just incase he had some beans on him (which he did) and then went and hid while i chewed on beans.

I guess in short, if you are willing to take a risk(usually the risk created by zombies who spawn inside buildings now) you can survive, get a weapon, get a few precious bullets, but currently loot seems to rare to really make a go of it. Only gun i found was a lee enfield in all the places i searched, was forced to make use of tin cans to try and distract zombies.

I think it really did something different to me morally too. I have only killed two twice, once to avenge my brother, and the second after i saved a fresh spawn only to find out it was the man who killed my brother spawning near us. Both times my heart raced, i hesitated to pull the trigger, i was scared that i might miss, i might lose everything.

This patch, i didnt even blink an eye. I wanted those beans, and they made me more determined then stopping a bandit from looting my brother.

So far the 1.7.1.1 has been going well for me - found my first two helicopter spawns, a M249 and 3 ammo belts for it, and a cow that I butchered but I am now looking for matches :-(

Overall a decent experience. No food, obviously, and I think two of my water bottles despawned. (had a 3rd one).

New zombies are a bit too strong (just two of them took 5k blood from me, argh, and I pretty much instantly shot them).

New detection rules are ace, really love being so visible and exposed when not prone, and not invisible if prone.

What I absolutely don't like are the atrocious FPS I get on about 25% of the servers (10 fps), with another 25% offering barely acceptable FPS (20-ish), whereas the others are in the high 40s and 50s.

Logged on to 1.7.1 for the first time and got spotted in a building zombies come charging at me half buried in the floor of the building. I start shooting them with my AKM and I kill roughly 100 zombies but they are spawning faster then I can shoot them. One charges through the floor and kills me.

Respawn: start by moving near a building to check for a weapon. zombie spawns on top of me and hits me once to bleed me then chases me forever until i run out of blood.

Im having the same FPS issues, thought my computer was just getting old :(

Found a mak, got on a sweet peddle bike outside, for all the zombies to see. Dont know how to make it go, i retreated inside, hid behind a box, and went on the internet to try and find out how xD

Okay, so i spawned in the debug field, tried everything but gave up. Lost some high end gear but nvm :)

The night is DARK. I mean, elektro is like a disco xD

As i crawled my way in, hearing zombies around me, and my flashlight didn't work, it is a miracle that i didn't aggro them. Oh, and the new sounds are creepy as hell.

I kinda like it. You now must use glowsticks or flares as you cannot exploit the gamma/brightness anymore. It is much more atmospheric. And the fact that you can now hide form zombies is very nice :D
