Textures on my character are really low quality...

Recommended Posts

Hello!

Since 1 or 2 days, the textures on my character have become really low resolution, as if the game was on 'low'. But it isn't and my friend sees the textures as they should be. We play on the same server but this issue is persistent on all servers. Is there a fix?

Hello, Only way to get better textures on your character, (Model)

Purchase these two DLC's for ArmA:

ArmA 2: Private Military Company

ArmA 2: British Armed Forces

One of them changes Camo and Ghillie,

the other one changes the Survivor, Bandit and Hero skin.

So without the DLC, all skins are THAT blurry? My friend doesn't own the DLC and he sees my skin in high resolution :l

He shouldn't be able to because those skins require assets from either PMC or BAF DLC's. Maybe you should get a screenie from him to check what it is he's seeing.

What he said...

it's even worse if you are using the free version of ArmA 2, and only bought Operation Arrowhead, but then also roads and buildings are horrible looking.. Oh and Vehicles :)

I am using the Combined Operations from GMG. He does NOT own the DLC for a fact.

Yeah, you basically need those dlcs to see the dayz skins on high res, the thing i wonder is, how do you install them from arma2 retail version?

That high res hero skin is only possible to have with the PMC DLC. The textures simply don't exist in the standard Arma2 or OA files.

That's a separate topic, lets stick with this one for this thread.

Can the DLC be bought with the GMG copy, that is, with a game that isn't on Steam? :)

Disgusting practice by the way.

r u running latest beta?

y r u missing entries for ATOC and PPAA?

best delete your OA cfg and let the game write new one at next start up

The ATOC and PPAA are come whit patch 1.62 ,, to delete the .cfg file that will not work.

- All "starter" civilian clothing

- Camo Clothing

- Hero Skin (amazing with the DLC)

- British Offroad Jeeps (Land Rovers)

- KA-60 Helicopter (cockpit is awesome with the DLC)

- L85 ACOG GL

... and I imagine there is improvement on other textures as well

Think I just paid around $17 on steam for them together

Disgusting practice by the way.

Dean made the DayZ mod to be used for about 500 people within the Arma community. The choice of character models was just a choice of authenticity and personal preference.

And I think it's quite the opposite case since BIS is actually giving you the content of the DLC's for free so you can play online with those having it :)

BIS has nothing to do with Dean's choice of character models for the free mod and as all the required content is there, I don't see any logic behind calling it a disgusting practice :)

I changed some of my graphics settings and my character textures are all of the sudden extremely low resolution. My ghillie looks like shit. It's wierd because all I did was increase terrain and object detail to the maximum. Whatever happened it is stuck this way. I have removed and reinstalled dayz, but the low res textures remain.

This is what it looks like in Dayz:

This is what it looks like in an Operation Arrowhead mission:

All graphics settings on maximum. I increased the gamma to better see the difference.
