Increase Spawn Location Text Duration

Recommended Posts

I made a post about this in bug reports, but since it is not technically a bug, I am re-writing it in this section.

Main point: The location text that types out in when you first spawn (I.e. Chernogorsk, Day 0) disappears too quickly.

By the time my graphics are loaded up the text is already disappearing and illegible. I can hear the sound of the text typing out and disappearing.

Not knowing where I initially spawn is a huge detriment to my survival (since I don't know which way to go for supplies).

I suggest increasing the location text duration by 2-5 seconds so those of us with less superior computers can actually read where we are.

I've had this problem since day one and nobody ever believes me. I think it's the same thing you've got- the text appears and disappears while the game is still loading the video. Obnoxious.

I feel for you only because you've got an unfair disadvantage compared to fellow survivors.

I'd correct it by removing the starting text entirely. For everyone.

Get rid of that text entirely IMO

EDIT: On reflection stop displaying the text after 10 respawns or something and perhaps make it display a few more seconds when it does display.

If we are to assume that you are a survivor tossed into the fray of the zombie apocalypse, it doesn't make sense to have the location popping up like some kind of GPS. And in the argument that if this were to happen, locals would know where they are, consider yourself not local until you've been around the island enough to recognize cities and city signs.
