polo53 0 Posted February 27, 2013 (edited) Afternoon folks. Recently started running DayZ on my PC and although the graphics are not unplayable, its by no means sharp or detailed. I appreciate its a heavy graphics game, so do not expect to run this at full settings at 100FPS. Recently decided to upgrade my PC to an extent at a reasonable budget. My current specs are;AMD Athalon X2 250 3GHz processor. AMD Radeon 6450 HD 1Gb GPU4GB RamNow, after a bit of consulting and searching around I can upgrade either the GPU or CPU to a newer model. Which would be of most benefit to me?The GPU I would look at a 1GB GTX 650 GDDR5 component or the CPU to a AMD FX-4 4100 Quad Core 3.6GHz CPU or similar for either! Can you run it suggests that its the CPU that is struggling but would the GPU be of a greater benefit?Cheers,Polo Edited February 27, 2013 by polo53
beatSTV 631 Posted February 27, 2013 dayz is cpu intensive dont get the 4100 go for a piledriver instead. tbh you'd be better off upgrading both go for a decent 3.0ghz+ processor and at 7770 or 7750
rustledmyjimmies 361 Posted February 27, 2013 The piledriver isn't that great, just buy the 4100 and overclock it, the 650 should be fine with that.
polo53 0 Posted February 27, 2013 If it was a choice between the two? Open to suggestions on similar models/makes that would be of a better value.
polo53 0 Posted February 28, 2013 Still looking, everywhere has different opinions on what the game depends on, the GPU or the CPU.
