So I'm maybe getting this tomorrow, would like a basic rundown.

Recommended Posts

Yeah. Not a rundown of the gameplay, I know approximately what it's about, but I'm kind of concerned about operating the menus, with band-aids and stuff, in case I have no idea how to use it and wind up dead in the forest within five minutes.

So a controls guide would be greatly appreciated.

G opens your item menu

Numlock Enter goes into 3rd person view.

Scroll your mouse on items and stuff and choose to pick it up, etc.

Right click bandage then choose Use to stop bleeding

Do the same for hatchet, it takes up the gun slot, for some reason you have to reload it so press R.

If you check out my sig, try out our server, as far as surviving on the coast its easier for new players because we removed many of the OP weapons and replaced them with new assault rifles, thus ppl won't go to big city's so much and snipe the new spawns, and if they do, they better make the shot count cause we only have the bolts in.

I've never died in the middle of a forest that was a legitimate kill ever.

Read, seriously. Just like the rest of us we had to learn, but the ones who struggle are those who only use whats given. The real survivors find their own techniques and hone their skills. Yes there are youtubers who show you their routes and gameplay styles but it all boils down to you! Emulate the "big guys" as long as you want and as much as you want but at the end of the day you are you. Why would you wish to continue their story? Be an individual learn the controls your self practice on the vanilla game, play SP missions, mess around in editor but for the love of god...do not hack you are essentially killing this community by doing so.

*side note if this does not work then just google "arma 2 manual" it will be a pdf file.

Medicines basic break down because it is not in the manual...

Morphine + Broken legs = Operating legs

Painkillers + Shake = No more shakes

Ephinephirine + Unconcious person = Aware body

Blood Bag + Someone of >1200 Blood= Brand new baby

Antibiotics + Coughing sickness weird thingy infection = Cured person

Just right click on meds and left click to use. Scroll wheel on person if you are applying them.

Dont even ask where to find meds...

You just have bad experiences, ever tried watching your back? You can never be so sure that you are alone can you? I mean even now as you are running through that forest who is to say that someone is not watching, stalking, waiting...to seize the moment and strike.

i thought by sticking my tongue out people would realise that part of my comment wasnt that serious, i meant that he shouldnt worry to much about dying when getting used to the game, it happens, for all kinds of odd reasons.

i havent had any bad experiences in dayz, interesting ones, frustrating ones, but not bad. :)
